A very memorable experience had by all that attended.
We were broken into two groups.
Discussed many significant historical events.
These included:
- 1810 Governor Macquarie designated area as a Market place
- 1893 George Mc Rae commenced building the structure
- 1918 officially named the Queen Victoria Building
- 1978 - glass domes severly damaged by bomb blast at Hilton
- 2009 - Refurbishment completed

Then we walked around the building and learnt more interesting facts:
- Queen Victoria statue being donated from Ireland in 1988
- Horror of the QV - surrounding the murder of a businessman
- His ghost is said to still roam the building.

After our tour we enjoyed a delicious high tea at Cicchettii.
